William L. Choi, O.D.

Dr. William L. Choi received his undergraduate degree from the University of California at Berkeley in 1993 and proceeded to get his degree in Optometry from UC Berkeley in 1997. He completed an optometric internship in a hospital located on a Navajo reservation in New Mexico. Here, he had the opportunity to treat a variety of pathology that is not commonly seen in metropolitan areas. In addition, Dr. Choi interned at Omni Eye Services in Atlanta, Georgia. At this busy surgical center, he worked with a cataract surgeon, corneal specialist and retinal specialist to care for patients throughout the area. Dr. Choi had lasik surgery in 2001, and is a proud member of the California Optometric Association.


Weyland B. Dear, O.D.

Dr. Weyland B. Dear attended the University of California at Berkeley for both his undergraduate and optometric studies, obtaining his Optometry degree from UC Berkeley in 1996. His optometric internships were completed at Travis Air Force Base, as well as in San Francisco's Chinatown. Dr. Dear grew up in the Bay Area and is delighted to serve his local community. He became an eye doctor so that he could provide the highest level of eye care, while improving patient's quality of life with the clearest vision possible. His philosophy is to take care of each patient's vision needs as if they were a member of his family. Dr. Dear wore glasses and contact lenses for most of his life, until he had lasik surgery several years ago. Dr. Dear enjoys examining patients of all ages, and can also complete eye exams in Spanish and Chinese (Cantonese).


Donald D. Drenth, O.D.

Dr. Donald D. Drenth graduated from the University of California at Berkeley with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He then attended Southern California College of Optometry where he earned Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Optometry degrees. Dr. Drenth contributed to establishing the first internship for young Optometrists in California, after which he moved to San Jose and started his private practice in 1969. At that time, Dr. Drenth was one of the few doctors to specialize in prescribing and fitting hard contact lenses. In addition, he was also among the first doctors in the Bay Area to fit and dispense soft contact lenses. He is now semi-retired but still enjoys practicing on a limited schedule and visiting with his long time patients. Dr. Drenth is enjoying his golden years with his family and grandchildren, and enjoys sailing and traveling.
